Que se abra o mar were awarded a corner in the 21th minute after Marquês de Herval's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Lando Norin took the corner. Ivar Eriksson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Dida Taffarel made a huge save. After 27 played minutes Ivar Eriksson rounded Marquês de Herval's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-2.
