In the 87th minute, Jung 1972's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Nestor Paraibano fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 90 minutes into the match, Marquês de Herval's goal looked a bit too open when Steevy Ciobica came free, but Dida Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nestor Paraibano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Cristian Gomes made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Marquês de Herval's Alfredo Martins slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Cristian Gomes. That made the score 3-1 after 95 minutes of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Jung 1972 fans cheered their team off the field, for while Marquês de Herval had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
