After 10 minutes BOTAFOGO's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Fouad Cavalli who took care of the corner kick. Fouad Cavalli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfonso Taraborrelli having to interfere. If Fouad Assad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fouad Cavalli scored 1-0 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alfonso Taraborrelli, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. صبئ ئآطئجآ ةآ بئسئ were furious when Mariusz Mochowak was red carded, 19 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 18 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for صبئ ئآطئجآ ةآ بئسئ! صبئ ئآطئجآ ةآ بئسئ:s Ionel Bărcăuan showed great skill when he stopped Kauan Melo:s penalty. In the 24th minute, Ismaïl Djebbour hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ionel Bărcăuan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toninho Madureira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ionel Bărcăuan came out of the goal and Édouard Deloge tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Shoto Doro made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Édouard Deloge in the 51st minute of play forced صبئ ئآطئجآ ةآ بئسئ's goalkeeper Ionel Bărcăuan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Shoto Doro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Shoto Doro might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alfonso Taraborrelli. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Shoto Doro ran back to his position shaking his head. After 64 minutes, Dacian Prezan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the صبئ ئآطئجآ ةآ بئسئ and the BOTAFOGO players grew even worse after the yellow card.
