Kaká Brasil hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Elder Vergílio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dedé de Toledo in the 10th minute. The supporters of FC St. Pauli booed when ♣¥ OS IMPOSSIVEIS ¥♣ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bebeto de Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nicky Williamson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pranas Užkuraitis, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. With a little luck, FC St. Pauli's Elder Vergílio got control of the ball when Dedé de Toledo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Dedé de Toledo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ♣¥ OS IMPOSSIVEIS ¥♣ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Dedé de Toledo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elder Vergílio having to interfere. Valdomiro Seco kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. In the 38th minute of the match FC St. Pauli got a corner. ♣¥ OS IMPOSSIVEIS ¥♣'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Filippo Inzaghi ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 42nd minute, ♣¥ OS IMPOSSIVEIS ¥♣'s Witold Gotfryd ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Elder Vergílio. Elder Vergílio yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Witold Gotfryd in the 47th minute of play forced FC St. Pauli's goalkeeper Elder Vergílio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pranas Užkuraitis was the one to do the kick off. 4-0 became the score in the 57th minute when Witold Gotfryd elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 61 minutes, Witold Gotfryd put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Elder Vergílio. Elder Vergílio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dedé de Toledo in the 66th minute of the match. ♣¥ OS IMPOSSIVEIS ¥♣'s Nicky Williamson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucas Zagalo in the 67th minute of play. In the 72ndth minute of the game Dedé de Toledo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC St. Pauli's Elder Vergílio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 75th minute, Witold Gotfryd made a precise shot to the right of Elder Vergílio. FC St. Pauli's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Witold Gotfryd in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elder Vergílio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lucas Zagalo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicky Williamson having to interfere. A collision led to ♣¥ OS IMPOSSIVEIS ¥♣ getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Witold Gotfryd hit a great ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The ♣¥ OS IMPOSSIVEIS ¥♣ fans cheered their team off the field, for while FC St. Pauli had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
