João Carlos Mesquita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dida Taffarel having to interfere. Meng Yu Hui made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Martins in the 13th minute of play. Meng Yu Hui showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Martins, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. João Carlos Mesquita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Meng Yu Hui took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from German Cano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. João Carlos Mesquita's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 22ndth minute, Dida Taffarel skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Valentin Vizitiu made in the 25th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's Thibault Delanoë. A sloppy throw-in by Richard da Fonseca in the 29th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Marquês de Herval's Valentin Vizitiu. After 29 played minutes Marquês de Herval got a freekick which was hit by Valentin Vizitiu. Percival de Souza hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Meng Yu Hui showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Luís da Rocha in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 35th minute German Cano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Meng Yu Hui saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 37 minutes into the game, Marquês de Herval's Alfredo Martins nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Meng Yu Hui made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nestor Paraibano in the 40th minute of play forced Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's goalkeeper Meng Yu Hui to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Marquês de Herval getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Lorenzo Mendebal hit a great ball.

The wind increased when Alfredo Martins made the kick off in the second half. When Valentin Vizitiu fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Marquês de Herval's protests and gave Valentin Vizitiu a yellow card for diving instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, João Carlos Mesquita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's supporters rose to their feet, but João Carlos Mesquita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dida Taffarel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dida Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Carlos Mesquita in the 61st minute of play. In the 62nd minute of the match Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa got a corner. Marquês de Herval's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Richard da Fonseca ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's corner Richard da Fonseca fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Dida Taffarel quite easily take care of the ball. Meng Yu Hui was a little too slow when Nestor Paraibano got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 67th minute. The score was now 1-2. Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's Sal Darby was substituted for Richard da Fonseca. 73 minutes into the match, Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's goal looked a bit too open when Nestor Paraibano came free, but Meng Yu Hui reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alfredo Martins took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Meng Yu Hui. Meng Yu Hui dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Marquês de Herval's Jair Bostan was substituted for Selami Rezan. A collision led to Marquês de Herval getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Selami Rezan hit a great ball. Meng Yu Hui made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Martins in the 85th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sal Darby in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dida Taffarel saved Marquês de Herval from getting behind. In the 91st minute, Marquês de Herval's Alfredo Martins ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Meng Yu Hui. Meng Yu Hui yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. Dida Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sal Darby, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Meng Yu Hui didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nestor Paraibano went, in the 97th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score.
