But to his dismay, João Carlos Mesquita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 19 minutes into the match, União Verde FC's goal looked a bit too open when João Carlos Mesquita came free, but Valdir Pérez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Carlos Mesquita in the 23rd minute of play forced União Verde FC's goalkeeper Valdir Pérez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26th minute, João Carlos Mesquita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Valdir Pérez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Carlos Mesquita in the 30th minute of the match. Valdir Pérez came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's João Carlos Mesquita. But to his dismay, João Carlos Mesquita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. The audience held their breath when Thibault Delanoë in the 37th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Valdir Pérez's left hand side. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind União Verde FC's goalkeeper Valdir Pérez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Valdir Pérez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from João Carlos Mesquita went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.

Thibault Delanoë fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdir Pérez having to interfere. Thibault Delanoë received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Valdir Pérez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gil Paiva made in the 60th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's Thibault Delanoë. When João Carlos Mesquita came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Carlos Mesquita couldn't finish the play. Valdir Pérez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sal Darby in the 64th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Sal Darby managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's supporters rose to their feet, but Sal Darby was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valdir Pérez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With an all-out effort, Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's Valdir Pérez threw himself towards the right post 67 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Sal Darby, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. União Verde FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 68th minute, when Sal Darby scored to the left of an out of position Valdir Pérez, making the score, 0-6. União Verde FC's Valdir Pérez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save União Verde FC from getting a goal against them. In the last second Valdir Pérez throw himself and got hold of the ball when Sal Darby in the 72ndth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Sal Darby could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Valdir Pérez made a huge save. Sal Darby's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 82ndth minute, Valdir Pérez skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The score was 0-7 after a penalty in the 84th minute, where Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa:s Flavien Deregnaucourt tricked União Verde FC:s Valdir Pérez with a difficult ball by the left post. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Valdir Pérez, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa fans' excitement grew in the 91st match minute when Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's Sal Darby looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-8 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind União Verde FC's goalkeeper Valdir Pérez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Mateus Salles hit a great ball. Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
