In the 15th minute Bartolo Buinton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th minute Jânio Loureiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Marquês de Herval from getting a goal against them. When Bartolo Buinton came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Shark FC - FSCMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bartolo Buinton couldn't finish the play. 37 minutes into the match, Marquês de Herval's goalkeeper Dida Taffarel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jânio Loureiro. Wambasther Casillas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Martins in the 41st minute of the match. Bartolo Buinton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bartolo Buinton stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dida Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from La 雷锋 in the 57th minute of play. In the 58th match minute, Marquês de Herval was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Moussa Kabre to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Marquês de Herval getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Moussa Kabre hit a great ball. Dida Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Seth Fulton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dida Taffarel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jânio Loureiro's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. In the 64th minute Shark FC - FSCMZ were awarded a corner. Jânio Loureiro went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 75th minute, Alfredo Martins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 75 played minutes, Shark FC - FSCMZ's Ghiţă Popescu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dida Taffarel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Shark FC - FSCMZ reached it. Seth Fulton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dida Taffarel came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Shark FC - FSCMZ's Marco Vianna. But to his dismay, Marco Vianna quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Jânio Loureiro struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Dida Taffarel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Shark FC - FSCMZ. After a rather tough play, Marquês de Herval's Pedro Luís da Rocha got a free kick in the 89th minute. 95 minutes into the match, Shark FC - FSCMZ's Marco Vianna sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dida Taffarel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. There was no doubt that Shark FC - FSCMZ were the better team. Shark FC - FSCMZ's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
