Thanks to some nice moves Epaminondas Baba could shoot a difficult shot in the 19th minute, which George Buffon however easily saved by the left post. Batalhão do Peçanha's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Carter Leggeri in the 21st minute. It was a well-played corner which Arnaldo Tróia managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Three Lions FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zé Pedro Baptista was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. The supporters of Batalhão do Peçanha booed when Three Lions FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benito McRae didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute Carter Leggeri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Buffon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Batalhão do Peçanha's Zé Pedro Baptista in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zé Pedro Baptista to make the kick off. Batalhão do Peçanha's Zé Pedro Baptista got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. George De Bruyne blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Petr Čech having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Zé Pedro Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Batalhão do Peçanha's supporters rose to their feet, but Zé Pedro Baptista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. George Buffon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Batalhão do Peçanha's Zé Pedro Baptista got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
