After 14 played minutes Estudiantes de la Plata got a freekick which was hit by Mariano Porfiro. After 17 minutes of play, Estudiantes de la Plata's Sylwester Siekierka made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Justino Gizon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toni Mauzer in the 94th minute of the match. 98 minutes had been played when some careless play by Croatia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Elias Osmundo was slow to take the kick. During this time Estudiantes de la Plata's players had a chance to rest. Martin Bosak charged in rather forcefully in the 98th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Martin Bosak the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 98th match minute, Croatia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martin Bosak to maneuver through the defense. In the 99th minute Elias Osmundo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilija Skugor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Estudiantes de la Plata had played much better football throughout.
