After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Claudius Marsching managed to get in a good position for a shot. De Gulden Draak's supporters rose to their feet, but Claudius Marsching was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Billy Tunberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Billy Tunberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudius Marsching, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Siim Kikas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sochi Ugochukwu in the 12th minute of play. Billy Tunberg made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Evert Heremans sent off a good shot on target. Brighouse FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 22nd minute, when Claudius Marsching scored to the left of an out of position Billy Tunberg, making the score, 1-0. Manuel Peres came free with the goalkeeper in the 25th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Billy Tunberg could save by the left post. The supporters of De Gulden Draak booed when Brighouse FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ebelechukwu Agoda didn't get a good kick on the ball. De Gulden Draak's Anselm Neuhäuser couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 28th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Brighouse FC. De Gulden Draak's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Anselm Neuhäuser in the 33rd minute. Chimaobim Oyinlola kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. If Azly Vijiaratnam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Manuel Peres made the kick off in the second half.
