In the 37th minute, Genaro Aragones reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Apolo Berto. The goal made the score 3-1. 46 minutes into the match, São José City - FSCMZ's Cássio Rocha broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 79thth minute of the game Genaro Aragones who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tellier's Apolo Berto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 84th minute, Waldemar Marques got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
