Samuel Evarado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ambrosio Iratxo in the 9th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastián Villa in the 13th minute of play forced Hermosillo FC's goalkeeper Samuel Evarado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Feliksas Čepulionis made in the 18th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Mauricio Ekaitz immediately put the ball in play. 19 minutes into the match, Cavaliers FC's goalkeeper Cornelio Villegas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Boguslaw Wydrych. Mauricio Ekaitz struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Cornelio Villegas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hermosillo FC. Juanito Šnajder kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Eloy Su kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Teofilo Mikeldi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cavaliers FC's Cornelio Villegas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauricio Ekaitz in the 26th minute of play. After some careless play in the Hermosillo FC defense, Sebastián Villa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Samuel Evarado. The Hermosillo FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Samuel Evarado should have stopped the shot. Mauricio Ekaitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Cornelio Villegas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 43 minutes into the match, Hermosillo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastián Villa came free, but Samuel Evarado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Samuel Evarado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastián Villa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Mauricio Ekaitz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cornelio Villegas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. In the 62nd minute, Ambrosio Iratxo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 65th minute, Mauricio Ekaitz made a precise shot to the right of Cornelio Villegas. Cavaliers FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. If Ambrosio Iratxo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Ambrosio Iratxo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cavaliers FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ambrosio Iratxo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Samuel Evarado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cavaliers FC made a substitution. Marcos Arano replaced Ambrosio Iratxo. Samuel Evarado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastián Villa in the 78th minute of play.
