Águilas Poblanas's Alexandros Ismael played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauricio Ekaitz in the 25th minute of play. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Samuel Evarado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With his leg Samuel Evarado managed to avoid a goal in the 39thth minute, when Águilas Poblanas's Eusebio Beltran fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 44th minute of the game Cengiz Canalp made a throw-in which Epifanio Intxixu played forward. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Alin Cristaldo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Evarado having to interfere. Samuel Evarado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alin Cristaldo, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. The corner ended in Lucjan Gollob almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Hermosillo FC's Samuel Evarado did a great save. Águilas Poblanas made a substitution. Godofredo Hibai replaced Alin Cristaldo.
