Arvin Jönsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Steve Whalley in the 5th minute of the match. In the 6th minute Chaz Venables shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arvin Jönsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 9th minute, Per-Åke Stor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 14th minute, David Wik hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sven-Ove Kråk got free with David Haigh in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arvin Jönsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Allan Cross, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. When Douglas Nyberg came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Moodys IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Douglas Nyberg couldn't finish the play. Valiant F.C's David Haigh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gunnar Blanck in the 23rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gunnar Blanck in the 28th minute of play forced Valiant F.C's goalkeeper David Haigh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute Gunnar Blanck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Haigh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 31 minutes into the game, Henry Hägert was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Moodys IF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Valiant F.C the free kick. David Haigh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gunnar Blanck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 37 minutes into the match, Moodys IF's goal looked a bit too open when Silvester Atkins came free, but Arvin Jönsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Allan Cross to make the kick off. A collision led to Moodys IF getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. David Wik hit a great ball. David Chadwick was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 54th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. David Haigh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gunnar Blanck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Valiant F.C booed when Moodys IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andréas Hääger didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 63 minutes, Gunnar Blanck mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Moodys IF and the Valiant F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 63rd minute, Gunnar Blanck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Steve Whalley could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Arvin Jönsson made a huge save. David Haigh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven-Ove Kråk in the 70th minute of play. A collision led to Valiant F.C getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Chaz Venables received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Arvin Jönsson came out and tried to block the shot, but Chaz Venables slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 87th minute. Jason Bartlett hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. David Haigh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gunnar Blanck in the 95th minute of the match. The Moodys IF fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Valiant F.C were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
