An unexpectedly hard shot by Nae Hăvârneanu in the 12th minute of play forced Pinhote FC's goalkeeper Ni Guang Yong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ni Guang Yong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcu Runcu in the 13th minute of play. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind English Fire's goalkeeper Dragoş Puric, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ni Guang Yong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven-Edvin Ahlroth, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 24th minute Sven-Edvin Ahlroth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ni Guang Yong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ni Guang Yong didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sven-Edvin Ahlroth went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Miguel Rodríguez made a kick off. Monico Dragomir's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ni Guang Yong firmly grabbed it by the left post. Ni Guang Yong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcu Runcu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Pinhote FC's Sílvio Luís Ceresso got a free kick in the 64th minute.
