After a defensive mix-up in English Fire's zone, Jonas Dahlberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dragoş Puric came out of the goal and Jonas Dahlberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 8th minute, Bartolomé Perpiñán made a precise shot to the right of Dragoş Puric. English Fire's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Yanick Knecht showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nae Hăvârneanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. English Fire's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cristinel Negulescu in the 13th minute. The corner ended in Cristinel Negulescu almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but LIVIUS UNITED MLS's Yanick Knecht did a great save. Jonas Dahlbergs short, quick shot in the 20thth minute got Dragoş Puric to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jonas Dahlberg in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dragoş Puric saved English Fire from getting behind. English Fire's Marcu Runcu got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dragoş Puric showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Şimandan in the 25th minute of the match. When Sven-Edvin Ahlroth came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the English Fire fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sven-Edvin Ahlroth couldn't finish the play. In the 35th match minute, English Fire was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vali Prelipceanu to maneuver through the defense. In the 36th minute, Cazimir Ciulei hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Yanick Knecht was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Cristinel Negulescu. 57 minutes into the game, Jonas Dahlberg cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Dragoş Puric was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 60 minutes into the match, LIVIUS UNITED MLS's goal looked a bit too open when Nae Hăvârneanu came free, but Yanick Knecht reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 61st minute Cazimir Ciulei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yanick Knecht saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Olimpiu Blidaru scored 4-0 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dragoş Puric, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. English Fire's Cristinel Negulescu was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Yanick Knecht in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. With an all-out effort, English Fire's Yanick Knecht threw himself towards the right post 74 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nae Hăvârneanu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Dragoş Puric took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonas Dahlberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cazimir Ciulei sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to English Fire getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Costică Nedelcu hit a great ball. English Fire's Dragoş Puric played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Octavio Cordaryal in the 91st minute of play. In the 95th minute Reinaldo Brasil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yanick Knecht saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The LIVIUS UNITED MLS fans cheered their team off the field, for while English Fire had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
