After some careless play in the Stockholm IF defense, Ionică Iriza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kasper Löfgren. The Stockholm IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kasper Löfgren should have stopped the shot. A collision led to English Fire getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Gigi Grigore hit a great ball. In the 18th minute, Lucian Bologa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Karl Mattsson's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 20thth minute, Emanuel Predescu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Kasper Löfgren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iurie Rădoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. 22 minutes into the match, Stockholm IF's goal looked a bit too open when Manole Silişteanu came free, but Kasper Löfgren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 35th minute, Stockholm IF's Karl Mattsson ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Emanuel Predescu. Emanuel Predescu yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. If Ionică Iriza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in English Fire's zone, Karl Mattsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emanuel Predescu came out of the goal and Karl Mattsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ionică Iriza to make the kick off. Nils-Erik Ekström kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Stockholm IF's Nils-Erik Ekström got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Pavel Nișu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stockholm IF were furious when Osvald Kihlberg was red carded, 66 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The Stockholm IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kasper Löfgren should have stopped the shot. English Fire played a much better game than Stockholm IF and deserved their victory. The Stockholm IF players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
