The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd match minute, Halcon Sport 69 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Germano Gestoso to maneuver through the defense. 6 minutes into the match, Passa o Tanque MZ's Christiano Neto broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Júlio Maciel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tabby Leceta having to interfere. Júlio Maciel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Tabby Leceta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 12 played minutes Halcon Sport 69 got a freekick which was hit by Germano Gestoso. 17 minutes into the match, Jean Souza dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tabby Leceta, 1-0. Jean Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tabby Leceta having to interfere. Laerte de Senna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gillermo Serrano in the 22nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Halcon Sport 69's zone, Júlio Maciel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tabby Leceta came out of the goal and Júlio Maciel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Halcon Sport 69's Gillermo Serrano got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 36th minute, one of Passa o Tanque MZ:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Passa o Tanque MZ. In the 38th minute there was a penalty for Halcon Sport 69. Bermund Bacardi stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Laerte de Senna. 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Passa o Tanque MZ's zone, Pepillo Peñaranda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Laerte de Senna came out of the goal and Pepillo Peñaranda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Passa o Tanque MZ getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Ademar Medeiros hit a great ball. Júlio Maciel was extremely unlucky when he, in the 45th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Teofilo Ruete hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Júlio Maciel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tabby Leceta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Carlos Netto in the 52nd minute of the match. Júlio Maciel might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tabby Leceta. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Júlio Maciel ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Passa o Tanque MZ's José Carlos Netto got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Passa o Tanque MZ's Laerte de Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gillermo Serrano in the 66th minute of play. After 70 played minutes Halcon Sport 69 got a freekick which was hit by Donzel Lena. Donzel Lena struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Laerte de Senna didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Halcon Sport 69. Tabby Leceta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jean Souza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Laerte de Senna made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Pepillo Peñaranda sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Christiano Neto during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 86th match minute, Passa o Tanque MZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christiano Neto to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Passa o Tanque MZ's Laerte de Senna got control of the ball when Pepillo Peñaranda tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gillermo Serrano in the 91st minute of play forced Passa o Tanque MZ's goalkeeper Laerte de Senna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th minute, Halcon Sport 69's Gillermo Serrano dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Halcon Sport 69 had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
