Ersin Kahveci hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Winthont FC's Kurt Neijsen got a free kick in the 5th minute. The Winthont FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. KOCAELİSPOR's defense didn't have a chance, in the 13th minute, when Roland Koekkoek scored to the left of an out of position Arif Burak Çimen, making the score, 2-0. Tomas Hof received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Arif Burak Çimen came out and tried to block the shot, but Tomas Hof slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 17th minute. Filip Smit's late challenge caught a KOCAELİSPOR's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Filip Smit helped the player get up and apologised. After 20 played minutes Winthont FC got a freekick which was hit by Filip Smit. In the 21st minute of the match Kamer Şensal shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jacob Hauvers showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 23 minutes into the game, Benjamin Bender was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Winthont FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KOCAELİSPOR the free kick. Benjamin Bender kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Jacob Hauvers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilfred Zaha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jacob Hauvers didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ali Faruk Hasanoğlu went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ali Faruk Hasanoğlu in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jacob Hauvers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jacob Hauvers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilfred Zaha, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute.
