Scotland's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nencho Stoimirov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. In the 30th match minute, Scotland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kian MacGregor to maneuver through the defense. Nencho Stoimirov hit a great ball. With a little luck, Scotland's Alexander Higgins got control of the ball when Vladko Vakarelov tried to sneak it across the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

FC BEROE StZ's Dragoş Burtea was substituted for Hugon Rozanski. Alexander Higgins stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vladko Vakarelov's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. Jack MacKinnon hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. In the 59th minute, Temelko Gopov made a precise shot to the right of Alexander Higgins. Scotland's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. When Temelko Gopov came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the FC BEROE StZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Temelko Gopov couldn't finish the play. In the 64th minute Lulcho Iliev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexander Higgins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The FC BEROE StZ fans' excitement grew in the 67th match minute when FC BEROE StZ's Vladko Vakarelov looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 7-0 became the score in the 70th minute when Temelko Gopov elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. When the match clock showed 76 minutes, the score became 8-0 when Vladko Vakarelov sped through Scotland's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alexander Higgins. FC BEROE StZ made a substitution. Manole Petrescu replaced Vladko Vakarelov. In the 81stth minute of the game Vancho Sharankov who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Scotland's Alexander Higgins was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 84 minutes, the score became 9-0 when Manole Petrescu sped through Scotland's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alexander Higgins.
