Olov Linquist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martín Palermo in the 10th minute of play. Metal Juniors's Daniel Păvăloae proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Metal Juniors from getting a goal against them. Metal Juniors's Daniel Păvăloae played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kenneth Frisk in the 16th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Metal Juniors's goalkeeper Daniel Păvăloae had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Erik Odin. 19 minutes into the game, Martín Palermo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Olov Linquist was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 26 minutes into the match, Metal Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Alfred Sandström came free, but Daniel Păvăloae reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 30th minute, Eloy Gaufred hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Martín Palermo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Olov Linquist was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind AIF's goalkeeper Olov Linquist, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Metal Juniors's Martín Palermo got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Martín Palermo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Olov Linquist was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. Daniel Păvăloae made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kenneth Frisk in the 45th minute. 46 minutes into the game, Metal Juniors's Martín Palermo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Olov Linquist made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Martín Palermo made a kick off. AIF's Olov Linquist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martín Palermo in the 54th minute of play. In the 54th minute, Martín Palermo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Olov Linquist was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind AIF's goalkeeper Olov Linquist, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Daniel Păvăloae took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Månsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 62nd minute, Eloy Gaufred got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 65 minutes into the match, Metal Juniors's Martín Palermo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Olov Linquist narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some careless play in the AIF defense, Martín Palermo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Olov Linquist. The AIF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Olov Linquist should have stopped the shot. Olov Linquist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martín Palermo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Olov Linquist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martín Palermo in the 71st minute of the match. Jonatan Dantae kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Metal Juniors's Miguel Sotero was substituted for Yani Abalos. Sergio Dennis might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Olov Linquist. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sergio Dennis ran back to his position shaking his head. 77 minutes into the match, AIF's goal looked a bit too open when Sergio Dennis came free, but Olov Linquist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sergio Dennis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Olov Linquist having to make a save. Olov Linquist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sergio Dennis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sergio Dennis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Metal Juniors had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
