Costică Petran didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lukáš Hajšman went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After 20 minutes, Lukáš Hajšman made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. UFC STEAUA's Costică Petran tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match clock showed 23 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Hermengildo Jobo sped through BSC Bardejov's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Michal Žemlička. BSC Bardejov's Michal Žemlička played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermengildo Jobo in the 25th minute of play. When BSC Bardejov's Lukáš Hajšman in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After a rather tough play, UFC STEAUA's Nelson Mendoza got a free kick in the 45th minute. 47 minutes into the match, Hermengildo Jobo notched a goal, 2-5, to the right of BSC Bardejov's Michal Žemlička. Michal Žemlička was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 2-5.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hermengildo Jobo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of BSC Bardejov booed when UFC STEAUA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorin Cercelescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vendelín Jasanský scored 4-5 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Costică Petran, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lukáš Hajšman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Costică Petran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Nelson Mendoza's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Michal Žemlička was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. The supporters of BSC Bardejov booed when UFC STEAUA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florin Arsenescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. The UFC STEAUA supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing UFC STEAUA would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
