In the 36th minute, Eddy van den Eede reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Lars Blom. The goal made the score 1-1. 38 minutes into the game, AFC Eskilstuna's Dan Njurenius nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jaap van der Schans made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. A collision led to Westenenk getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Carlo de Jong hit a great ball. Lars Blom was out of position in the 45 minute of play, and Valio Tammisto capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Valio Tammisto really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

After taking down the ball on AFC Eskilstuna's corner Dennis Nordgren fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jaap van der Schans quite easily take care of the ball. Westenenk were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing AFC Eskilstuna to leave the ground with a draw.
