The referee ignored Scofield's protests and gave Emilio Etxatxu a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Machu Picchu booed when Scofield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emilio Etxatxu didn't get a good kick on the ball. 26 minutes into the game, Rivaldo Ferreira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0.
