Hazım Hastimur started the match with the kick off. In a very dangerous position, a player in istanbulls fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 8th minute. Penalty! istanbulls's defense didn't have a chance, in the 11th minute, when Jean-Pierre Halter scored to the left of an out of position Ceyhun Koyas, making the score, 1-0. Jean-Pierre Halter recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ceyhun Koyas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Freddy Rouvrais, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jean-Pierre Halter who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 34thth minute tested the skills of Ceyhun Koyas when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Derviş Efe kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in istanbulls's zone, Christophe Pérennou stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ceyhun Koyas came out of the goal and Christophe Pérennou tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jean-Pierre Halter was the one to do the kick off. After 51 played minutes istanbulls got a freekick which was hit by Cihangir Nurtekin. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind istanbulls's goalkeeper Ceyhun Koyas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. istanbulls's Ceyhun Koyas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jean-Pierre Halter in the 57th minute of play. Freddy Rouvrais kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. After 62 played minutes Deus Ex Machina got a freekick which was hit by Jim Caze. With a little luck, Deus Ex Machina's Jérémie Millier got control of the ball when Haydar Özdinç tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jérémie Millier was out of position in the 68 minute of play, and Haydar Özdinç capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Haydar Özdinç really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Derviş Efe hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. If Jean-Pierre Halter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Julienne kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
