The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gilberto Meirelles hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. If Carlos Julienne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Julienne struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Belmiro Godoi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deus Ex Machina. If Jean-Pierre Halter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilson Braga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Jérémie Millier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Moïse Hauser made in the 30th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Jean-Pierre Halter however managed to control. In the 32nd minute, Jean-Pierre Halter left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Deus Ex Machina fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Jean-Pierre Halter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Belmiro Godoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 38 minutes into the match, Jean-Pierre Halter notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Academia B.F.'s Belmiro Godoi. Belmiro Godoi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Academia B.F.'s zone, Jean-Pierre Halter stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Belmiro Godoi came out of the goal and Jean-Pierre Halter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 45 minutes, Dráuzio Soares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Academia B.F. and the Deus Ex Machina players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 45th minute, Dráuzio Soares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Freddy Rouvrais received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Belmiro Godoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Belmiro Godoi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jean-Pierre Halter in the 55th minute of the match. After 61 played minutes Carlos Julienne rounded Academia B.F.'s defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-4. Sylvain Chiffoleau blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Belmiro Godoi having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Jean-Pierre Halter managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deus Ex Machina's supporters rose to their feet, but Jean-Pierre Halter was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Belmiro Godoi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Freddy Rouvrais received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Belmiro Godoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 81 played minutes Academia B.F. got a freekick which was hit by Gilberto Meirelles. Belmiro Godoi made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Jean-Pierre Halter sent off a good shot on target. When Freddy Rouvrais came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Deus Ex Machina fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Freddy Rouvrais couldn't finish the play. Jean-Pierre Halter took the ball and in the 97 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Belmiro Godoi. Belmiro Godoi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. The Academia B.F. fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Deus Ex Machina were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
