The audience thought a goal was coming when Fernando Grover got free with Emilian Martinez in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Yao Zhan Sang showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luciano Victoro, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Kaplan's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by 任志克 in the 17th minute. After taking down the ball on Kaplan's corner 任志克 fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Yao Zhan Sang quite easily take care of the ball. Emilian Martinez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fernando Grover in the 19th minute. Kaplan's Emilian Martinez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Grover in the 21st minute of play. With his leg Emilian Martinez managed to avoid a goal in the 28thth minute, when Borussia Dortmund's Fernando Grover fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Levander in the 31st minute of play forced Kaplan's goalkeeper Emilian Martinez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by Kaplan's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Yakup Sargut was slow to take the kick. During this time Borussia Dortmund's players had a chance to rest. The supporters of Borussia Dortmund booed when Kaplan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. 任志克 didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fernando Grover in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emilian Martinez saved Kaplan from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Fernando Grover put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Emilian Martinez. 41 minutes into the game, Kaplan's Luciano Victoro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Yao Zhan Sang made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Baltazar Clavijo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Emilian Martinez made a huge save. Kaplan's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Baltazar Clavijo 44 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-1. After a defensive mix-up in Kaplan's zone, Baltazar Clavijo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emilian Martinez came out of the goal and Baltazar Clavijo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell 任志克 to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando Grover in the 52nd minute of play forced Kaplan's goalkeeper Emilian Martinez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Baltazar Clavijo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Emilian Martinez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Emilian Martinez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baltazar Clavijo in the 58th minute of the match. The Kaplan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emilian Martinez should have stopped the shot. Emilian Martinez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fernando Grover's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. With a little luck, Borussia Dortmund's Yao Zhan Sang got control of the ball when Diego Armando Santirso tried to sneak it across the goal line. 81 minutes into the game, Tzonyo Krivoshiyski was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kaplan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Borussia Dortmund the free kick. In the 81st minute, Tzonyo Krivoshiyski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fernando Grover in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emilian Martinez saved Kaplan from getting behind. In the 86th minute Tomas Levander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilian Martinez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With 87 minutes on the clock, Yakup Sargut commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 87 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Borussia Dortmund! 任志克 shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Baltazar Clavijo took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Emilian Martinez. Emilian Martinez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. Emilian Martinez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baltazar Clavijo, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. The Borussia Dortmund support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
