Hélio Donatello blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eduardo Pereyra having to make a save. André Sörman's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Eduardo Pereyra firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 18th minute of the game, Olaf Pietrasz landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Nazım Taci charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nazım Taci the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 20 de Março FC made a substitution. Raúl Veloso replaced Olaf Pietrasz. The supporters of 20 de Março FC booed when New York Red Bulls was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. The 20 de Março FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. 61 minutes into the game, 20 de Março FC's Hélio Donatello nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eduardo Pereyra made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After 65 minutes of play, 20 de Março FC's Hélio Donatello made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eduardo Pereyra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Sörman in the 95th minute of play. There was no doubt that 20 de Março FC were the better team. 20 de Março FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
