In the 6th minute, Wanderson Meirelles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 14 minutes into the match, Anselmo Iturri had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jesus Sayveon. Athletico Picapedrense's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anselmo Iturri was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Cirilo Frederico showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hristo Stoichkov in the 19th minute of the match. If Angelino Abeita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 26 minutes of play, Kiev FC's Anselmo Iturri made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jesus Sayveon was left in no man's land by his defense there! Kiev FC's Cirilo Frederico played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hristo Stoichkov in the 29th minute of play. In the 40th minute of the match Athletico Picapedrense got a corner. Kiev FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Juanito Gabucio ran over to the corner to take the kick. The supporters of Athletico Picapedrense booed when Kiev FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geronimo Rubio didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hristo Stoichkov in the 46th minute of play forced Kiev FC's goalkeeper Cirilo Frederico to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Anselmo Iturri made a kick off. Jesus Sayveon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anselmo Iturri in the 61st minute of play. After having played for 63 minutes, Anselmo Iturri managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kiev FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anselmo Iturri was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Coronel Ribas scored 2-1 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cirilo Frederico, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kiev FC's Cirilo Frederico proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Kiev FC from getting a goal against them. In the 75th minute Anselmo Iturri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jesus Sayveon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 76 minutes into the match, Athletico Picapedrense's goal looked a bit too open when Anselmo Iturri came free, but Jesus Sayveon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anselmo Iturri in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jesus Sayveon saved Athletico Picapedrense from getting behind. Kiev FC made a substitution. Rodolfo Burni replaced Ladislao Batista. In the 82nd match minute, Kiev FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wanderson Meirelles to maneuver through the defense. When Athletico Picapedrense's Eloi Fontanella in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
