Kenneth Biörkquist made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when İbrahim Volkan got free with Kenneth Biörkquist in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Martinez Cines succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 14th playminute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damian Maftei in the 17th minute of play forced Bloodthirsty FC's goalkeeper Kenneth Biörkquist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stefanos Terzopoulos took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kenneth Biörkquist. Kenneth Biörkquist dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. 22 minutes into the game, Tomas Norberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bloodthirsty FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Esmeraldas S.C. the free kick. A collision led to Bloodthirsty FC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Bloodthirsty FC's Kenneth Biörkquist proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Bloodthirsty FC from getting a goal against them. Kenneth Biörkquist came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Esmeraldas S.C.'s İbrahim Volkan. But to his dismay, İbrahim Volkan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Kenneth Biörkquist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damian Maftei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kenneth Biörkquist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Martinez Cines in the 34th minute. Kenneth Biörkquist didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from İbrahim Volkan went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. The crowd rose to their feet as Damian Maftei kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Kenneth Biörkquist. That made the score 8-0 in the 43 minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell İbrahim Volkan to make the kick off. Esmeraldas S.C.'s Niki Borda suffered a concussion in the 52nd minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Kenneth Biörkquist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from İbrahim Volkan, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. If İbrahim Volkan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Esmeraldas S.C. walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
