Felippe Monteiro charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Felippe Monteiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 8 played minutes Karaboudjan got a freekick which was hit by Felippe Monteiro. AFC - Curitiba's Fausto da Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernandinho Albuquerque in the 11th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, Karaboudjan's goal looked a bit too open when Matouš Carda came free, but Marcelinho Abraão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcelinho Abraão stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jan Bykowski's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. In the 16th match minute, AFC - Curitiba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Fábio Borges to maneuver through the defense. Fausto da Rocha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Pereira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd minute, Zhang Yin Si left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AFC - Curitiba fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Marcelinho Abraão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zhang Yin Si in the 25th minute of the match. Karaboudjan's Marcelinho Abraão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Bykowski in the 26th minute of play. Marcelinho Abraão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zhang Yin Si in the 27th minute of the match. Zhang Yin Si scored 0-2 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcelinho Abraão, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 34 minutes, Yuri Teixeira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Karaboudjan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yuri Teixeira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zhang Yin Si took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcelinho Abraão. Marcelinho Abraão dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. After 41 minutes, Genílson Maciel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Karaboudjan and the AFC - Curitiba players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 42nd match minute, Karaboudjan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Genílson Maciel to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to AFC - Curitiba getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. August Wahlnäs hit a great ball. When Jan Bykowski came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the AFC - Curitiba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jan Bykowski couldn't finish the play. AFC - Curitiba's Fausto da Rocha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save AFC - Curitiba from getting a goal against them. The Karaboudjan players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. AFC - Curitiba were winning 0-3.
AFC - Curitiba's Romário Ortiz was substituted for Zhang Yin Si. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jan Bykowski was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, AFC - Curitiba's Jan Bykowski got a free kick in the 55th minute. Marcelinho Abraão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romário Ortiz in the 57th minute of play. Fernandinho Albuquerque recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 64 minutes into the match, Jan Bykowski notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Karaboudjan's Marcelinho Abraão. Marcelinho Abraão was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan Bykowski in the 69th minute of play forced Karaboudjan's goalkeeper Marcelinho Abraão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 71st minute, Jan Bykowski reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Marcelinho Abraão. The goal made the score 0-5. Marcelinho Abraão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from August Wahlnäs, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. After 76 played minutes Karaboudjan got a freekick which was hit by Renato Pitta. In the 78th match minute, AFC - Curitiba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romário Ortiz to maneuver through the defense. Karaboudjan's Marcelinho Abraão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Karaboudjan from getting a goal against them. Jan Bykowski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelinho Abraão having to interfere. 88 minutes into the game, Renato Pitta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Karaboudjan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AFC - Curitiba the free kick. The supporters of AFC - Curitiba booed when Karaboudjan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Renato Pitta didn't get a good kick on the ball.
