The Academia Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aureliano Pacifico should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dionisio Dolfo in the 15th minute of play forced Las Palmas's goalkeeper Evelio Naike to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Dionisio Dolfo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Evelio Naike. That made the score 1-1 in the 20 minute of play. A collision led to Academia Club getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Florencio Telesforo hit a great ball. In the 25th minute Nicanor Fanuco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aureliano Pacifico saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hugo Nikola during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Las Palmas booed when Academia Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Nikola didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Academia Club's zone, Nicanor Fanuco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aureliano Pacifico came out of the goal and Nicanor Fanuco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dionisio Dolfo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Las Palmas's Ruben Peruxu got a free kick in the 30th minute. After 39 minutes, Horacio Sein made it 1-3 with a short kick to the right side. Academia Club's Aureliano Pacifico tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nicanor Fanuco to strike the kick off in the second half. Evelio Naike took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dionisio Dolfo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 58th match minute, Academia Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquin Phelipe to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Horacio Sein got free with Aureliano Pacifico in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 82nd minute, Joaquin Phelipe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Nicanor Fanuco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aureliano Pacifico was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. Las Palmas had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
