After 14 played minutes Mercado Paulista F.C got a freekick which was hit by German Laurentzi. In the 19th match minute, Mercado Paulista F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Esteban Orixe to maneuver through the defense. Elvio Illart showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquin Nofre in the 21st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Balvanera's Joaquin Nofre got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Elvio Illart didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Diego Milito went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Esteban Orixe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Cayetano Behe made a huge save. Elvio Illart made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquin Nofre in the 37th minute of play. In the 43rd match minute, Mercado Paulista F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bishen Cana to maneuver through the defense.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Esteban Orixe stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Albano Kepa during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Mercado Paulista F.C getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Albano Kepa hit a great ball. Cristo Raulo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Elvio Illart took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diego Milito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cayetano Behe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristo Raulo in the 81st minute of the match. With 86 minutes on the clock, Ermegildo Loramendi commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 85 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Severiano Taurino in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elvio Illart saved Mercado Paulista F.C from getting behind. Elvio Illart made an important save on a dangerous shot by Diego Milito in the 93rd minute. Diego Milito in the 94thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Elvio Illart, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diego Milito in the 97th minute of play forced Mercado Paulista F.C's goalkeeper Elvio Illart to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
