But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paco Cabedo couldn't finish the play. 15 minutes into the game, Diego Milito recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Amato Heyboer. Diego Milito showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Diego Milito hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Deportivo Balvanera's Severiano Taurino pulled a muscle in his back after 27 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Deportivo Balvanera's Omar Fliz was substituted for Severiano Taurino. A collision led to CRUZ DEL SUR getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Elías Cruz hit a great ball. Deportivo Balvanera's Cayetano Behe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paco Cabedo in the 34th minute of play. The supporters of CRUZ DEL SUR booed when Deportivo Balvanera was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Omar Fliz didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Paco Cabedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cayetano Behe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Cruz in the 45th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Paco Cabedo made the kick off in the second half. Amato Heyboer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquin Nofre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 2-1 became the score in the 61st minute when Paco Cabedo elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Amato Heyboer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Milito in the 68th minute of play. After 69 minutes, Francisco Cruz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CRUZ DEL SUR and the Deportivo Balvanera players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leandro Cordarin in the 75th minute of play forced CRUZ DEL SUR's goalkeeper Amato Heyboer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Deportivo Balvanera getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Fabricio Errapel hit a great ball. Cayetano Behe made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abdul Esquerra in the 78th minute. Amato Heyboer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquin Nofre in the 80th minute of play.
