Betão Pontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Phạm Hanh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 11 minutes into the match, Phạm Hanh had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Betão Pontes. GKS Katowice's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Phạm Hanh was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Da Nang's Nguyễn Nam played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cezary Kasiewski in the 21st minute of play. Betão Pontes made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Đinh Huỳnh sent off a good shot on target. Wlodzimierz Brytan kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Nguyễn Nam didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cezary Kasiewski went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After having played for 36 minutes, Phạm Hanh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Da Nang's supporters crossed their fingers, but Phạm Hanh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Da Nang booed when GKS Katowice was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Borys Kiszkiel didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lucjan Werra in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nguyễn Nam saved Da Nang from getting behind. In the 46th minute of the match Da Nang got a corner. GKS Katowice's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nghiêm Xuan ran over to the corner to take the kick. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 54th minute, Đinh Huỳnh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 57 minutes into the match, Da Nang's goalkeeper Nguyễn Nam had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lucjan Werra. Cezary Kasiewski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Nam having to interfere. If Lucjan Werra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Phạm Hanh in the 63rd minute of play forced GKS Katowice's goalkeeper Betão Pontes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cezary Kasiewski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Nam having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Da Nang's zone, Cezary Kasiewski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nguyễn Nam came out of the goal and Cezary Kasiewski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 77 minutes into the game, Da Nang's Phạm Hanh nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Betão Pontes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Ludomir Zacharek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 92 minutes into the match, Lucjan Werra notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Da Nang's Nguyễn Nam. Nguyễn Nam was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Da Nang fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. GKS Katowice were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
