When the match clock showed 10 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Chico Wey sped through Da Nang's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Nguyễn Nam. 16 minutes into the match, John Galt's goalkeeper Christoper Chung had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Đinh Huỳnh. John Galt's Christoper Chung proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save John Galt from getting a goal against them. With his leg Christoper Chung managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when Da Nang's Đinh Huỳnh fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 27th minute Da Nang were awarded a corner. Nghiêm Xuan went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Da Nang's corner Lê Tuan Hoang fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Christoper Chung quite easily take care of the ball. In the 29th minute, Nghiêm Loc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 30 minutes into the match, Chico Wey had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nguyễn Nam. Da Nang's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Chico Wey was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Chico Wey blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nguyễn Nam having to make a save. When Humberto Pimentel came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the John Galt fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Humberto Pimentel couldn't finish the play. Nguyễn Nam didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Chico Wey went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Chico Wey in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nguyễn Nam saved Da Nang from getting behind. After 42 minutes, Nguyễn Tong mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Da Nang and the John Galt players grew even worse after the yellow card. 42 minutes into the game, one of Da Nang:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 43rd minute there was a penalty for John Galt. Humberto Hidalgo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Nguyễn Nam. 0-6. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-6.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Chico Wey to make the kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Raúl Asad managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. John Galt's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raúl Asad was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Chico Wey was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 53rd minute. John Galt's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 54th minute, Chico Wey ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nguyễn Nam was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. In the 58th minute, Chico Wey made a precise shot to the right of Nguyễn Nam. Da Nang's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-8. Humberto Pimentel struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Nguyễn Nam didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for John Galt. 62 minutes into the match, Da Nang's goal looked a bit too open when Chico Wey came free, but Nguyễn Nam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 64th minute, Rolando Velis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chico Wey could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Nguyễn Nam made a huge save. Chico Wey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Nguyễn Nam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Christoper Chung showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Phạm Hanh, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. When Da Nang's Đinh Huỳnh in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye John Galt's goalie prevented a goal. In the 76th minute of the match Mauro Rey sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nguyễn Nam skillfully saved the ball. When Rolando Velis fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored John Galt's protests and gave Rolando Velis a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 78th minute of the game. One of John Galt:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Da Nang:s goal. The referee gave Da Nang a penalty, 79 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Nghiêm Xuan, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of John Galt's Christoper Chung. 1-8. Christoper Chung showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Phạm Duong, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Đinh Huỳnh in the 88th minute of play forced John Galt's goalkeeper Christoper Chung to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nguyễn Tong was shown his second yellow card after 89 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Humberto Hidalgo shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Nguyễn Nam was out of position in the 97 minute of play, and Chico Wey capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal.
