Óscar Cordoba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Uriel Isias in the 6th minute of play. In the 10th minute, Uriel Isias left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Juniors FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Lázaro Colon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alejandro Rufo, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Óscar Cordoba didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Uriel Isias went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Óscar Cordoba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Uriel Isias in the 18th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Matias Bilintx got free with Lázaro Colon in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 22nd minute, Carlo Crema hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alejandro Rufo in the 24th minute of play forced Juniors FC's goalkeeper Lázaro Colon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Óscar Cordoba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Uriel Isias in the 26th minute of the match. 27 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sporting de Gijón's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Nicanor Porfirio was slow to take the kick. During this time Juniors FC's players had a chance to rest. Daniel Loi kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Óscar Cordoba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Uriel Isias in the 36th minute of play. In the 37th minute Juniors FC were awarded a corner. Nicanor Porfirio went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Uriel Isias managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Óscar Cordoba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Uriel Isias in the 38th minute of play. Óscar Cordoba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Uriel Isias in the 40th minute of the match.

When Uriel Isias came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Juniors FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Uriel Isias couldn't finish the play. Óscar Cordoba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Uriel Isias in the 54th minute of play. Juniors FC made a substitution. Prospero Furman replaced Daniel Loi. Juniors FC's Enrique Frasco was substituted for Uriel Isias. Juniors FC's Lázaro Colon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saturnino Curcio in the 61st minute of play. The Juniors FC fans' excitement grew in the 64th match minute when Juniors FC's Enrique Frasco looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Óscar Cordoba came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Juniors FC's Enrique Frasco. But to his dismay, Enrique Frasco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Sporting de Gijón's Atilano Feo was substituted for Carlo Crema. The throw-in from Rune Fanström in the 76th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Juniors FC's Wlodzimierz Lepper. A collision led to Juniors FC getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Arturo Marino hit a great ball. Enrique Frasco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Óscar Cordoba made a huge save. 85 minutes into the match, Juniors FC's goal looked a bit too open when Venancio Emesto came free, but Lázaro Colon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 86 played minutes Juniors FC got a freekick which was hit by Wlodzimierz Lepper. In the 88th minute Matias Bilintx shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lázaro Colon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Matias Bilintx fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lázaro Colon having to interfere. Enrique Frasco blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Óscar Cordoba having to make a save. 94 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Óscar Cordoba had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Enrique Frasco. Matias Bilintx kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match.
