The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the game, Denis Bonadona cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Evaristo Roldan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 8 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's Matias Bilintx sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Evaristo Roldan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Saturnino Curcio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evaristo Roldan having to interfere. Evaristo Roldan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matias Bilintx in the 22nd minute of the match. 23 minutes into the match, Cuervos AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Matias Bilintx came free, but Evaristo Roldan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Matias Bilintx put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Evaristo Roldan. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Denis Bonadona in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Evaristo Roldan saved Cuervos AFC from getting behind. Evaristo Roldan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denis Bonadona, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. In the 43rd match minute, Cuervos AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Omar Berart to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 43 minutes, Saturnino Curcio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sporting de Gijón's supporters crossed their fingers, but Saturnino Curcio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Denis Bonadona's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Evaristo Roldan was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. After the first half Sporting de Gijón were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Maximino Illan to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 60th minute Nicolás Blandi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Fernendo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 65 minutes into the match, Maximino Illan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dante Fernendo. Sporting de Gijón's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Maximino Illan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Sporting de Gijón's Venancio Emesto was substituted for Denis Bonadona. After 75 minutes of play, Cuervos AFC's Marcelo Petrigai made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dante Fernendo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nicolás Blandi went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-3 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice moves Matias Bilintx could shoot a difficult shot in the 89th minute, which Evaristo Roldan however easily saved by the left post. With his leg Evaristo Roldan managed to avoid a goal in the 90thth minute, when Sporting de Gijón's Matias Bilintx fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Sporting de Gijón's Dante Fernendo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gregorio Sabino in the 92nd minute of play. In the 92nd minute, Gregorio Sabino made a precise shot to the right of Dante Fernendo. Sporting de Gijón's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-3. 95 minutes into the match, Cuervos AFC's goalkeeper Evaristo Roldan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mario Zanabria.
