Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Olov Holmberg started the match with the kick off. 2 minutes into the game, Anselmo Polito was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. L.R. Vicenza's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Villa Gordiani the free kick. Anselmo Polito kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind L.R. Vicenza's goalkeeper Emilio Maurizi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Emilio Maurizi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anfilogino Trombatore in the 9th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Anfilogino Trombatore kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Emilio Maurizi. That made the score 1-0 in the 10 minute of play. Iker Casillas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olov Holmberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. With a little luck, L.R. Vicenza's Emilio Maurizi got control of the ball when Anfilogino Trombatore tried to sneak it across the goal line. Iker Casillas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olov Holmberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emilio Maurizi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciro Esposito, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. The supporters of Villa Gordiani booed when L.R. Vicenza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesare Boldrini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fabrizio Canzano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Emilio Maurizi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 29th minute Aristides Nel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iker Casillas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emilio Maurizi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fabrizio Canzano went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. The throw-in from Alexander Antonelli in the 36th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Villa Gordiani's Franco Cacciatore. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anfilogino Trombatore to make the kick off. Murillo Porto hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. After 55 played minutes Villa Gordiani got a freekick which was hit by Anfilogino Trombatore. After 59 minutes of play, Villa Gordiani's Anfilogino Trombatore made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Emilio Maurizi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Edmondo Del Duca's late challenge caught a L.R. Vicenza's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edmondo Del Duca helped the player get up and apologised. After 64 played minutes Villa Gordiani got a freekick which was hit by Edmondo Del Duca. L.R. Vicenza's Murillo Porto couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 65th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Villa Gordiani. 66 minutes into the match, Fabrizio Canzano notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of L.R. Vicenza's Emilio Maurizi. Emilio Maurizi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fabrizio Canzano in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emilio Maurizi saved L.R. Vicenza from getting behind. Emilio Maurizi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabrizio Canzano in the 74th minute of the match. In the 82nd minute, Franco Cacciatore ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Emilio Maurizi was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. 85 minutes into the game, Murillo Porto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. L.R. Vicenza's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Villa Gordiani the free kick. In the 86th minute, Murillo Porto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Villa Gordiani's Fabrizio Canzano got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Villa Gordiani's Iker Casillas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Villa Gordiani from getting a goal against them. Augusto Costantino hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. After 91 played minutes L.R. Vicenza got a freekick which was hit by Aristides Nel. Villa Gordiani's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
