Branislav Velchevski made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Belo Alvarez sent off a good shot on target. Elpidio Francis might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Maurino Serena. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elpidio Francis ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elpidio Francis in the 27th minute of play forced A.D. Alcorcón's goalkeeper Maurino Serena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner ended in Venancio Havier almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but A.D. Alcorcón's Maurino Serena did a great save. Esteban Iztal made in the 33rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by A.D. Alcorcón's Nereo Acosta. Erlantz Bermejo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Branislav Velchevski read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. Esteban Iztal hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Branislav Velchevski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erlantz Bermejo in the 41st minute of the match. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Branislav Velchevski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erlantz Bermejo in the 43rd minute of play. Erlantz Bermejo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Elpidio Francis to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute Elpidio Francis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurino Serena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A.D. Alcorcón made a substitution. Branislav Velchevski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Belo Alvarez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alcorcón's Maurino Serena got control of the ball when Elpidio Francis tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
