Qikiqtarjuaq FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Michael Owen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Washington Cavalcante breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Washington Cavalcante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hilario Slaughter, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Abel Bueno came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by LADEIRA DO BATISTA FC's Mario Gomes. But to his dismay, Mario Gomes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Celsinho Carneiro got free with Abel Bueno in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Abel Bueno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mario Gomes in the 15th minute of the match. The supporters of LADEIRA DO BATISTA FC booed when Qikiqtarjuaq FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michael Owen didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cyrus Velasco in the 29th minute of play forced LADEIRA DO BATISTA FC's goalkeeper Washington Cavalcante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bernardo Maia during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Bernardo Maia hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Qikiqtarjuaq FC's goalkeeper Abel Bueno, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Abel Bueno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mario Gomes in the 35th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Qikiqtarjuaq FC's Hilario Slaughter got a free kick in the 36th minute. Abel Bueno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mario Gomes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Lotan Otto fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored LADEIRA DO BATISTA FC's protests and gave Lotan Otto a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Qikiqtarjuaq FC booed when LADEIRA DO BATISTA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lotan Otto didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mario Gomes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Qikiqtarjuaq FC defense, João Vítor Meireles kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Abel Bueno. The Qikiqtarjuaq FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Abel Bueno should have stopped the shot. After 56 minutes, Hilario Slaughter mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Qikiqtarjuaq FC and the LADEIRA DO BATISTA FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Hilario Slaughter hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Abel Bueno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celsinho Carneiro in the 58th minute of play. 60 minutes into the match, Mario Gomes notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Qikiqtarjuaq FC's Abel Bueno. Abel Bueno was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 62nd minute, Michael Owen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Qikiqtarjuaq FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind LADEIRA DO BATISTA FC's goalkeeper Washington Cavalcante, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Celsinho Carneiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. LADEIRA DO BATISTA FC made a substitution. Jorge Monteiro replaced José Paulo Recife. LADEIRA DO BATISTA FC's Murillo Ramos was substituted for Bernardo Maia. In the 77th minute, Mario Gomes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Abel Bueno was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. Qikiqtarjuaq FC were furious when Wilton Boyles was red carded, 91 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 92nd minute, Wilton Boyles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 94th minute Mario Gomes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Bueno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
