It was a penalty for Nova Erechim - FSCMZ! In the 8th minute there was a penalty for FC Traktor Götz. Juan Pietsch stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving José Pedro de Godoi. 0-1. 10 minutes into the match, Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Hans Thees came free, but José Pedro de Godoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eurico França received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Günther Heiß tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's José Pedro de Godoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Pietsch in the 14th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan Pietsch in the 20th minute of play forced Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's goalkeeper José Pedro de Godoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 24 minutes of play, Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's Sílvio Luís Pinho made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Günther Heiß was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 26th minute, Benjamim Vargas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Pedro de Godoi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hans Thees, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 28th match minute, FC Traktor Götz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karsten Brandes to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hans Thees to strike the kick off in the second half. Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's defense didn't have a chance, in the 53rd minute, when Hans Thees scored to the left of an out of position José Pedro de Godoi, making the score, 2-2. Günther Heiß made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sílvio Luís Pinho in the 58th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Eurico França's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Günther Heiß was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. When Benjamim Vargas fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's protests and gave Benjamim Vargas a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Nova Erechim - FSCMZ getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Eurico França managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Eurico França was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Günther Heiß breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Eurico França came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Nova Erechim - FSCMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eurico França couldn't finish the play. Sílvio Luís Pinho took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Günther Heiß. Günther Heiß dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-3. Despite close surveillance by the defense, Juan Pietsch managed to send off a shot that put the ball into the goal to the left of a disappointed goalkeeper. 4-4 in the 97th minute. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
