Hertha 1969's supporters rose to their feet, but Gigel Elenescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alisson Becker breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match clock showed 22 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Wilhelm Nienhaus sped through Buffalo Timişoara's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alisson Becker. Thanks to some nice moves Gigel Elenescu could shoot a difficult shot in the 62nd minute, which Alisson Becker however easily saved by the left post. Rune Jarstein stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Franky Ooms's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Rune Jarstein showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valentin Voicu in the 70th minute of the match. Hertha 1969's Rupert Heidingsfelder was substituted for Wilhelm Nienhaus. Hertha 1969's Stefan Mayer was substituted for Lüder Roppel. Augusto Benitez took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rune Jarstein. Rune Jarstein dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. The audience was convinced that Rupert Heidingsfelder's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alisson Becker was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. In the 88th minute, Zé Paulo da Silva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 94th minute, Moritz Hasenjäger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Buffalo Timişoara fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Hertha 1969 were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
