The audience thought a goal was coming when Emilio Cascajares got free with Santiago Torres in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Santiago Torres made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Damián Åkerman in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eskil Vester saved October 04 from getting behind. In the 12th minute Damián Åkerman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eskil Vester saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 15 minutes October 04's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Eustaquio Bazkoare who took care of the corner kick. INTER de Córdoba were awarded a corner in the 20th minute after October 04's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Eustaquio Bazkoare took the corner. Claudinei Custódio kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Damián Åkerman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eskil Vester having to interfere. Eskil Vester took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damián Åkerman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Damián Åkerman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eskil Vester read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. Damián Åkerman took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eskil Vester. Eskil Vester dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Eskil Vester showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cheng Qian Qiang in the 71st minute of the match. Eskil Vester made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cheng Qian Qiang in the 78th minute. Dante Isauros short, quick shot in the 78thth minute got Eskil Vester to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Santiago Torres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emilio Cascajares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 83rd minute Cheng Qian Qiang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eskil Vester saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 84 minutes into the game, Emilio Cascajares cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Santiago Torres was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Dante Isauro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. October 04's Eskil Vester proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to save October 04 from getting a goal against them. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The October 04 fans cheered their team off the field, for while INTER de Córdoba had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
