To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 13th minute Luis Romero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Froilan Ferrer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 16th match minute, Tellier was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucas Sengrat to maneuver through the defense. In the 19th minute, Rosendo Bermudez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nunez Astudillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gonzalo Tadzio in the 21st minute of the match. With a little luck, Estrellas de Caballito's Nunez Astudillo got control of the ball when Justo Loiola tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nunez Astudillo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rosendo Bermudez, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paulino Gipuzkoa in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Froilan Ferrer saved Tellier from getting behind. A collision led to Estrellas de Caballito getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Amadeo Uxio hit a great ball. Romulo Primeiro's late challenge caught a Tellier's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Romulo Primeiro helped the player get up and apologised. In the 47th minute, Romulo Primeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Tellier players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Estrellas de Caballito were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luis Romero to make the kick off.
