Javier Firmo charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Javier Firmo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 7 played minutes Leones FC got a freekick which was hit by Javier Richie. After a defensive mix-up in Leones FC's zone, Alexander Perilli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aureliano Obeko came out of the goal and Alexander Perilli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arnaldo Leguizamón hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. After 14 played minutes CA Boca Jrs got a freekick which was hit by Ferruccio Villa. 16 minutes into the game, Antonello Fiore was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CA Boca Jrs's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Leones FC the free kick. After 23 played minutes, Leones FC's Amado Jordy shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Diego Tassotti came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Leones FC reached it. In the 28th minute, CA Boca Jrs's Ettore Gelsomini ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Aureliano Obeko. Aureliano Obeko yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Carlos Santana managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leones FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos Santana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diego Tassotti breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Arrigo Giancola blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aureliano Obeko having to make a save. Ferruccio Villa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Leones FC booed when CA Boca Jrs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Demetrio Castellani didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th minute Serafin Hori shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Tassotti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 47th minute of the match Javier Firmo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Diego Tassotti showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ettore Gelsomini stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Serafin Hori ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Diego Tassotti was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Aureliano Obeko didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ettore Gelsomini went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. If Carlos Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Santana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego Tassotti having to interfere. In the 62nd minute, Ferruccio Villa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Ettore Gelsomini's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aureliano Obeko was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. Carlos Santana struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Diego Tassotti didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Leones FC. Arrigo Giancola might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aureliano Obeko. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arrigo Giancola ran back to his position shaking his head. Diego Tassotti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicanor Florinio in the 85th minute of the match. With a little luck, CA Boca Jrs's Diego Tassotti got control of the ball when Serafin Hori tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 90 played minutes CA Boca Jrs got a freekick which was hit by Ferruccio Villa. In the 93rd match minute, CA Boca Jrs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ettore Gelsomini to maneuver through the defense. Nestor Rito hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. In the 96th minute of the match Alexander Perilli sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Aureliano Obeko skillfully saved the ball. CA Boca Jrs were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Leones FC for a fine match.
