When the match clock showed 20 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Leonardo Medardo sped through FORTALEZA's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Genady Lagutov. In the 25th minute, Viktor Lapeiko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 27th minute, Leonardo Medardo made a precise shot to the right of Genady Lagutov. FORTALEZA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. 30 minutes into the match, Alan Shearer notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Boulogne F.C.'s Ladislao Nesto. The wind increased when Leonardo Medardo made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Benito Jerrold managed to get in a good position for a shot. Boulogne F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Benito Jerrold was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mechyslav Zolov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Boulogne F.C.'s Dante Tiniebra got a free kick in the 73rd minute. FORTALEZA's Mechyslav Zolov got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 76th minute Mechyslav Zolov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ladislao Nesto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Benito Jerrold's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Genady Lagutov was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind FORTALEZA's goalkeeper Genady Lagutov, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Benito Jerrold fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Genady Lagutov having to interfere.
