The referee ignored De Ontembare Leeuwen's protests and gave Wilfred Tollenaar a yellow card for diving instead. Wilfred Tollenaar hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Vince Sós hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Dave Otten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Károly Tolnay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dave Otten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vince Sós, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Károly Tolnay in the 63rd minute of play forced De Ontembare Leeuwen's goalkeeper Dave Otten to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With 66 minutes on the clock, Iván Túri commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Géza Gál managed to get in a good position for a shot. Szombathely Squirrels's supporters rose to their feet, but Géza Gál was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dave Otten breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lajos Domonkos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dave Otten having to interfere. Géza Gál charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Géza Gál the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Szombathely Squirrels's Géza Gál got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Róbert Kormos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carel Woudenberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Szombathely Squirrels walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
