The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dave Otten showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Géza Gál in the 2nd minute of the match. Vince Sós's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dave Otten read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. After having played for 8 minutes, Lajos Domonkos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Szombathely Squirrels's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lajos Domonkos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dave Otten came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Szombathely Squirrels's Károly Tolnay. But to his dismay, Károly Tolnay quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The supporters of De Ontembare Leeuwen booed when Szombathely Squirrels was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. János Csongrádi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dave Otten showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Károly Tolnay in the 16th minute of the match. After 17 minutes, Hans Kuypers mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the De Ontembare Leeuwen and the Szombathely Squirrels players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 17th minute, Hans Kuypers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Róbert Kormos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mitchell Terpstra in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind De Ontembare Leeuwen's goalkeeper Dave Otten, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 23rd minute, Ottó Vámosi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Károly Tolnay could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Dave Otten made a huge save. 26 minutes into the game, Carel Woudenberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. De Ontembare Leeuwen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Szombathely Squirrels the free kick. Dave Otten stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vince Sós's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Ottó Vámosi kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, De Ontembare Leeuwen's Hans Kuypers got a free kick in the 38th minute. An unexpected shot in the 42nd minute by Géza Gál got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Dave Otten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vince Sós, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Károly Tolnay made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Balázs Pálinkás hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Károly Tolnay scored 3-0 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dave Otten, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind De Ontembare Leeuwen's goalkeeper Dave Otten, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Szombathely Squirrels getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Ottó Vámosi hit a great ball. When Zsolt Lázár fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Szombathely Squirrels's protests and gave Zsolt Lázár a yellow card for diving instead. Zsolt Lázár hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. In the 70thth minute of the game Vince Sós who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but De Ontembare Leeuwen's Dave Otten was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 75 played minutes, Szombathely Squirrels's Vince Sós shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dave Otten came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Szombathely Squirrels reached it. Dave Otten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Károly Tolnay in the 77th minute of play. 78 minutes into the game, Károly Tolnay cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Dave Otten was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Szombathely Squirrels's Balázs Pálinkás got a free kick in the 87th minute. Vince Sós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Dave Otten tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Szombathely Squirrels booed when De Ontembare Leeuwen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hans Kuypers didn't get a good kick on the ball. Szombathely Squirrels were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of De Ontembare Leeuwen for a fine match.
