Saturnino Curcio really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Dario Wilhelm made an important save on a dangerous shot by Saturnino Curcio in the 11th minute. Dario Wilhelm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matias Bilintx, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Matias Bilintx could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Dario Wilhelm made a huge save. In the 21st match minute, Cascade Park West was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Waldo Renteria to maneuver through the defense. Sporting de Gijón's Dante Fernendo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rolland Hobbs in the 24th minute of play. Piotr Brzakala lost his temper 28 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 28 minutes into the game, one of Cascade Park West:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Dario Wilhelm had in the 30thth minute some difficulties stopping Saturnino Curcio's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Waldo Renteria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Dante Fernendo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Waldo Renteria sped through Sporting de Gijón's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dante Fernendo. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Waldo Renteria in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dante Fernendo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dante Fernendo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Waldo Renteria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Cascade Park West were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Waldo Renteria in the 60th minute of play forced Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Dante Fernendo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Dante Fernendo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 66 minutes into the match, Rolland Hobbs dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Dante Fernendo, 1-3. Sporting de Gijón's Aitor Tilla was substituted for Alejandro Rufo. In the 73rd minute, Aitor Tilla left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sporting de Gijón fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. Atilano Feo made in the 82nd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Aitor Tilla however managed to control. When Sporting de Gijón's Matias Bilintx in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
